Carrie Evans (she/her) co-founded Educators for Fair Consideration (now Immigrants Rising) with Kathy Gin in 2006 and currently serves on the organization’s Board of Directors. As an educator, Carrie was deeply moved by the academic and financial barriers undocumented students faced in pursuing higher education. She co-founded Immigrants Rising to increase awareness of and support for undocumented youth in their academic, professional, and immigration journeys. Over the years, she has continued to advise the organization in various capacities, including developing a new communications strategy, serving as Vice Chair of the Board, supporting the transition to 501(c)(3) status, participating in the hiring of the Executive Director, and helping expand the Board of Directors.

Carrie is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Nurse Practitioner at the UCSF School of Nursing, where she is committed to advancing health equity, providing high-quality, evidence-based care, and developing future nurse leaders. She teaches in the BSN-to-DNP program, preparing graduate students to become advanced practice nurses, and maintains a clinical practice caring for patients during pregnancy and postpartum at UCSF.
