Position: Home Is Here Opportunity Program Participant
Arlette (she/her/ella) is a social justice advocate graduating with a bachelor’s in criminology and criminal justice with an ethics minor at York College of Pennsylvania. Her passions include working with immigrant, Latine, and BIPOC communities to elevate their voices within the criminal justice system and beyond. Arlette was born in Zacatlán, Mexico, and her parents migrated her to the United States at two years old. At 14, she became politically aware and realized what it meant to be undocumented. Arlette’s journey began with an organization named CASA, which gave her the tools that shaped her into the activist she is today. Arlette has nearly 10 years of experience with community organizing and advocacy. She is thrilled to be part of the Home is Here Opportunity Program and looks forward to sharing the information she learns while in the program with her community in York, Pennsylvania. During her free time, Arlette enjoys working out, watching true crime, and being with her family.
