Cristina Ameyalli Nava (she/her/ella) is a first-generation college student earning her bachelor’s degree in English at California State University, East Bay. She likes to think of herself as an empowered Latina and person of color, seeking change through education. Ameyalli pursues opportunities where she can be surrounded by like-minded individuals and had the honor of being placed at Immigrants Rising through the Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs (OCEIA) DreamSF Fellowship. In the last year, she has also received the Chicana Latina Foundation Scholarship and Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Program Alumni Scholarship. In addition to being a full time student, Ameyalli runs her own private tutoring service within her community and manages her small handmade jewelry business, Cris Art Creations. In her free time, Ameyalli enjoys photography, traveling, roller skating, and spending time with loved ones. She hopes to become an educator in the future and continue to impact lives through education!
