Position: Entrepreneurship Fellow, Los Angeles, CA
Hector Alessandro Negrete is a queer, undocumented immigrant of color from Manzanillo, Colima, MX. Alessandro, as he is known to friends and community, came to the U.S. with his mother as a three month old. He grew up in South Central, now known as South L.A. He is the byproduct of the hoods he has lived in and he has called Boyle Heights home since the 90’s. After living near many undocumented street vendors for years, his mother became a vendor to support her family. After growing up undocumented and going to school, Alessandro began building his own skills and brand in order to support himself as an entrepreneur. Alessandro has since led policy to advance immigrant rights, built a name for himself through his small consulting practice, and continues to support other community members in accessing resources to become leaders in whatever capacity they choose.
