Position: Home Is Here Opportunity Program Participant
Marion (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist. Their experience as a queer Filipino first-generation immigrant influences their art, working with nonprofits and grassroots organizations to create zines, illustrations, and murals. As a working artist, their role also expands to researching climate change & sustainability, systems of care, and restorative justice. Their art business, Building Press Co. is a collaborative project they started with their wife to work that uplifts other artists and local businesses. As a business owner and recipient of the 2023 SEED Grant through Immigrants Rising, Marion seeks to give back to their community through the Home is Here program by empowering immigrants and artists alike. In their free time, Marion enjoys exploring Los Angeles, as well as writing poetry and making ceramics.
