Position: Home Is Here Opportunity Program Participant
Mei (she/her) is a Chinese Indonesian immigrant from Jakarta, Indonesia. She has lived in Philadelphia, PA since coming to the U.S. when she was four. Mei is a first-generation low-income student at Swarthmore College pursuing a special major in computer science and educational studies with a minor in Asian American studies.
Mei has organized an advocacy group at her college to promote a safe space for the undocumented student community. By becoming a Home is Here Opportunity Program participant, Mei is committed to becoming a resource for the undocumented individuals around her.
Outside of the Home is Here Opportunity Program, she enjoys trying new foods with her friends and spending time with her dog, Bean.
