Students can quickly find out whether they’re eligible for in-state tuition at California colleges and universities through our new In-State Tuition Tool.

Eligibility for in-state tuition has expanded beyond AB 540 requirements. Students are now able to count their attendance at California adult schools and community colleges–in addition to their time spent in California high schools–to meet these requirements.

Our In-State Tuition Tool helps students easily calculate their tuition eligibility before they apply to colleges and universities in California. After completing a set of questions, students will receive a personalized email with an outline of their self-reported information and next steps they can take if they do not yet meet the requirements. Any information that students give on the form will be kept confidential.

We hope that this tool will enable more students to see what’s possible and realize their potential.
