Claire Calderón (she/her) is a queer Chilean-American writer, editor, and community arts organizer with a passion for diasporic stories. She spearheads Immigrants Rising’s messaging and narrative content, working closely with program staff to develop resources, storytelling projects, and other materials that reflect the organization’s voice and vision. Claire holds a bachelor’s degree in Gender and Latin American Studies from Scripps College and an MFA in English and Creative Writing from Mills College. Prior to joining the Immigrants Rising team, Claire was a grant writer and communications consultant for Prospera, a leadership development and business incubator for Latina entrepreneurs. In her free time, Claire can be found working on her novel or performing with her bilingual indie band Coraza.
