Estefanía (she/her) was born in Tepatitlán, Jalisco and immigrated to the United States with her mom and two sisters at the age of six. At 19 years old, she joined an interfaith nonprofit organization as a community organizer for immigration reform. Soon after, she was part of the founding team of Movimiento Cosecha / Harvest Movement, a movement-based organization that empowers undocumented communities to push for dignity, respect, and permanent protection. She also continued to study throughout this time, and she graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a focus in organizational studies.

Since joining the Immigrants Rising team in 2016, Estefanía has informed and inspired over 10,000 students, parents, and educators through presentations, workshops, and community events. As someone who was formerly undocumented, Estefanía recognizes that all people, especially undocumented people, can fulfill their dreams despite their circumstances and is motivated to discover those pathways together!

Estefanía currently serves as the SEED Grant & Application Manager.
