Maria (she/her/ella) is a first-generation Latina, born in Mexico. For over 10 years, Maria has served as an advocate for the immigrant community, particularly undocumented students. Maria has over 5 years of experience working with undocumented students in higher education. She has also been an active participant in the current and ongoing immigrants’ rights movement. Her goals are to raise awareness about the different identities that intersect with the undocumented status as well as to archive the stories of undocumented folx. Maria is obsessed with Frida Kahlo, coffee, and plants/gardens.
