As an advocate for human and empathy-centered systems and processes, Tara (she/her) has dedicated her career to developing people, departments, and organizations to their fullest potential and greatest impact.

Tara works with Immigrants Rising to support building its infrastructure and HR systems, and with over two decades of HR and organizational development experience in movement organizations, Tara loves helping nonprofits and the people powering them thrive to do their best work. Tara is the Founder and President of Shuai Strategies, an HR and OD consulting firm that supports nonprofits with emergent learning and a both/and approach. Tara is also a co-author of “The Equitable Hiring Guide” and Companion Toolkit.

Tara is the daughter of a Taiwanese immigrant, a biracial queer femme, and a work-to-live person, and outside of work, you can find her living for food adventures, traveling, building queer, BIPOC & AAPI community, and going to the dog beach with her pug Truffle.
