Celebrating 20 Years of AB 540

20 Year Anniversary AB 540 Conference

AB 540 turns 20 this year! Join us in celebrating this landmark legislation supporting undocumented students across the Golden State.

AB 540 was a victory won by students and educators across the state calling for equitable access to higher education. Their hard work fueled future victories, including the passage of the California Dream Act and institutional support at California colleges and universities as well as opportunities for state licensure and entrepreneurship.

Since then, an entire generation of undocumented and other eligible students have graduated from California’s colleges and universities and made invaluable contributions that resonate throughout this state. However, thousands more are left out of this law that helps them achieve their academic and career goals.

Join us and our partners for the 20 Year Anniversary AB 540 Conference on Monday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!

Come together with educators, administrators, students, young professionals, activists, and legislators from across the state to commemorate this important milestone and build on our collective successes.

20 Year Anniversary AB 540 Conference
Monday, October 18, 2021
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT

This Celebration and the Call to Action honor Leticia A. Network educators and student organizers and recognize many accomplishments of undocumented individuals. We’ll be sharing promising practices at California colleges and universities, and importantly, we will join together in calling for the equitable implementation of AB 540 statewide.

When undocumented young people pursue their education and career goals, they create new, brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. By working with educational institutions and systems, we find common ground and build bridges and create deeper and more sustainable changes.
