Tonight: A space for solidarity and healing after the Atlanta shootings

In solidarity with Asian American immigrants in Georgia and across the nation.

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims in last night’s shooting in the Atlanta metro area. Eight people — including six Asian women — lost their lives in an act of racialized and gendered violence. In the context of the ongoing escalation of violence against Asian American communities across the nation, this reverberates deeply in our hearts and minds.

Tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific Time / 9 p.m. Eastern Time, we are holding a space for our community to process, reflect, share, and grieve together. In this space, we will ground ourselves with mindful practices to find healing in these difficult times.

Immigrants Rising stands in solidarity with Asian American communities in Georgia and across the nation. We are committed to serving all undocumented immigrant communities and creating an America where everyone — regardless of race, gender, immigration status — can pursue opportunities free from fear. We condemn the elevated rhetoric of hatred and the rampant misogyny that affects immigrant women, and we lift up the lives of immigrant women often living in the margins to survive.

Join us tonight for this gathering.
