Reflections on the 2024 SUCCESS Convening: Unity and Empowerment for Undocumented Students

Luz Bertadillo Rodriguez and Ivana Lopez Espinosa of Presidents’ Alliance reflect on their experiences from the 2024 SUCCESS Convening, hosted in Houston, TX. Intentionally held in Texas, the state with the second-largest undocumented population and “a pioneer in adopting policies that support undocumented students,” practitioners, educators, administrators, and student leaders gathered to discuss and learn how to “create more inclusive environments that better support undocumented students across the country,” with a focus on career development resources and opportunities.

The 2024 SUCCESS Convening was hosted by the Presidents’ Alliance, in collaboration with TheDream.US and Immigrants Rising. The three organizations also hosted the SUCCESS Awards Ceremony to “celebrate individuals and institutions making a difference in the lives of immigrant students.”
