Mecir (he/him) was born in Lima, Peru and migrated with his family to Los Angeles in 2003. Mecir witnessed injustices since he started his education journey in the K-12 system through college, which led him to take on activist roles at an early age. He holds a bachelor’s in Spanish and a master’s in college counseling. Mecir has been an active member of undocumented student clubs, dream centers, immigrant rights organizations, and lobbying efforts at the California State Capitol.
Mecir has been a DJ for over 15 years and recently started a vintage toy and collectible business. In his free time, Mecir enjoys hiking and going to flea markets.
